Who are the Authors of "Fanaroff and Martin's Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine : Diseases of the Fetus and Infant 12th edition" ?

Dr Avroy A. Fanaroff is the Emeritus Eliza Henry Barnes Professor of Neonatology at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University. He directed the neonatal Division for over 20 years and also served as department Chair in Pediatrics for 5 years. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has boards in Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. He has authored and edited Care of the High Risk Neonate with Marshall Kllaus M.D (7editions) the last 2 with his son Jonathan., Neonatal Perinatal Medicine with Richard Martin M.D and Michelle Walsh M.D,(11 editions); Neonatology at a Glance with Tom Lissauer M.D (4 editions) and has served as editor of the yearbook of Neonatal Medicine since from 1987 for thirty years.

Avroy Fanaroff’s research interests include problems related to prematurity and particularly the care of infants at the borders of viability. He is also interested in neonatal infections and hyperbilirubinemia. He was a founding member of the Shriver NICHD Neonatal Research Network,has over 200 peer reviewed publications and is most interested in neonatal education.

He has received many awards including Honorary M.D’s from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and the University of Turku, Finland as well as Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Pediatricians and Child Health,London. He is aso the recipient of the Apgar award for life time achievement in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine, the Saltzman award for community service and the Physician recognition award from University Hospitals.
