The new book entitled Cosmetic and Medical Tattoos, volume 56, launched in 2023, presents the panorama of this high-tech field of tattooing, which is under fast growth all over the world. It is a tutorial prepared for cosmetic tattooists, micropigmentalists, and not least medical providers; medical tattooing is being integrated in hospital treatment based on different indications exemplified by nipple and areola reconstruction after breast surgery for cancer; it adds quality of life to survivors from disease.

  

What is the content of "Cosmetic and Medical Tattoos"

The book includes chapters written by cosmetic tattooist of international reputation and covers the many subtle techniques applied. It is useful and should be obligatory reading in the education and certification of cosmetic tattooists all over the world. Hospital departments and other practitioners making medical tattoos will find important information they cannot find elsewhere.

Some 700 million world citizens are tattooed, and the population use and exposure are enormous. The field was neglected by academics and the medical community for many years, and research is still much behind and only performed in a few centers.

However, interest is fast growing both among medical providers and among the many tattooists, who do their best to deliver perfection and aim at high customer satisfaction, with the golden aim of no adverse event.Knowledge in the field is not reserved for academia; the bulk of knowledge and experience in the art and practice is in the hands of the many experienced technicians.

Practical learning, however, often is inflamed by the bias from product brand promotion and business interest. In the editing of the trilogy and volume 56, we insisted on objective and independent information in a global perspective. You will find chapter authors from many countries on different continents.
