Daniel B. Jones : Author of "Pocket Surgery Third Edition"
Daniel B. Jones, MD, MS, FACS is Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery, Chief of Service at University Hospital, and Assistant Dean at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, NJ, USA.
Following his training, he joined the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and founded the Southwestern Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery. His team performed the first laparoscopic gastric bypass in Texas in 1997 at Parkland Hospital.
In 2003, Dr. Jones joined Harvard Medical School and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), where he was Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Division of Bariatric & Minimally Invasive Surgery and Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery at BIDMC. At Harvard, he founded the Shapiro Simulation and Skills Center, serving as its Director.
